eClub. Aiming for entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship Club (eCLUB) is an interdisciplinary group open to all Undergraduate, Graduate, and Post Doc students, striving to connect entrepreneurial students from all different areas of study. The goal of eCLUB is to expose individuals to entrepreneurship on campus and provide new entrepreneurs with the space and necessary resources in order for them to make their ideas a reality.
Three pillars of eCLUB:
- Developing a strong network of student entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts
- Spreading entrepreneurial culture
- Providing peer coaching and mentorship
Meet the eCLUB Team
Elena is a 5th-year business student, majoring in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. To truly practice the skills she learned in her major, she actively pursued consulting projects with several local companies: tackling everything from strategic direction and brand development, to marketing strategies and customer acquisition. Elena believes in encouraging fellow students to embark on the exciting journey of entrepreneurship and she is very excited to be a part of the entrepreneurial family on campus. As the incoming President, she looks forward to leading the eCLUB team and promoting eCLUB's vision at the University of Alberta.
Chris Megraw is a 3rd year Bachelor of Commerce student with a specialization in Finance and Accounting. Chris has taken a keen interest in entrepreneurship and consulting over the past year; working on a startup (which has since been stopped) and now founding a consulting firm (ASCG) at the University of Alberta. Chris aims to break down the barriers between faculties at the university, putting in efforts with positions in interdisciplinary clubs and the aforementioned consulting group. After returning on an invitational trip for an entrepreneurship course at Reykjavik University, Chris looks to use his passion and experience in leadership to bring increased entrepreneurial spirit and foster better, more diverse startup teams within the university
Zeinab is a 4th year student, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Political Science. While she has not yet found her own entrepreneurial idea to pursue, she is very interested in exploring how innovation can improve our daily lives. She is especially fond of the disruption occurring in the service industry and hopes to one day find a new solution to develop. She hopes to use her communications role at eCLUB to spread the entrepreneurial spirit on campus and encourage students to participate in activities that will inspire them to find their own innovative solutions.
Ryan is a 5th year political science student who is deeply passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation. Although he does not have a business background, he believes that entrepreneurship can be self-taught. Over the last few years, he has been working with a few start-ups in Edmonton and he loves every bit of it. Ryan also believes that it is important to encourage other students, regardless of their academic and professional backgrounds, to engage in entrepreneurship. Thus, by joining eClub, he aims to do just that.
